Essential Oils Explained

So, what’s all the fuss with the new trend, Essential Oils you ask?? Just everything...and it’s not so new. Seriously, I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I committed to learning about the little vials of plant-based goodness, I was hooked!

I first heard about these lovelies at a home party, and when the host started to explain each oil, the health benefits, the chemical-free peace of mind-I was the first in line to get one of the only starter packs available to take home that night. Now full disclosure, I jump into everything with two feet, am super-excited about it, and then it fizzles out a few weeks later. Not with Essential Oils!

Diffuse

First, I diffuse, I diffuse, I diffuse. I no longer burn candles and I was a fanatic (I was in the candle of the month club!). I think about the soot, the chemicals-all going into my family’s lungs. The essential oils that I use, Young Living, are therapeutic grade and organically sourced. All that goodness, made from Mother Earth , making my home (and work) smell lovely and having a positive impact on my family’s health.

Ingesting Essential Oils

I also ingest. There’s ginger, lemon, thyme, basil, peppermint, and many more. It’s organic, made from the root of the plant where all the goodness thrives. Oils can go in food and freshen up that boring water. I LOVE grapefruit in my H2O – it supports digestion, boosts weight loss, lessens anxiety, and more. With Young Living‘s motto Seed to Seal, there’s nothin’ in the bottle except the plant so,  a little goes a long way.

Create With Essential Oils

Now this part is my favorite; I create and apply. Essential oils nourish the outside as much as they nourish the inside. I use my favorites like a drop of Frankincense and Lavender in my moisturizer in the evening. I have recipes for organic make-up remover, coffee scrub, sugar scrub, muscle rub, and many more that will rival any store or salon bought product.
