DIY Essential Oil Scrubs

I don’t know about you, but my skin needs some serious hydration this time of year. Luckily, I have the best recipes for some essential oils scrubs that leave you feeling smooth, refreshed, and moisturized. My Organic Sugar Scrub is an all over body scrub that exfoliates and hydrates. Believe me, this is so easy to make and you are going to fall in love with it! The Organic Coffee Scrub can do the same, but I tend to leave this on my sink in the bathroom as a delightful little pick me up after washing my hands. Guests comment on this every time they visit. I also bring it with me to dinner parties as hostess gifts. Lastly, my Brown Sugar Lip Scrub is such a treat. Say goodbye to chapped lips when you scrub with this little jar of magic. Let’s get started with the recipes!

Organic Lavender-Sugar Scrub

  • ½ cup Coconut Oil (melted in the microwave for easy mixing-about 30-45 seconds)
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 15 Drops Young Living Lavender Essential Oil

Directions: In a small mixing bowl, combine the melted coconut oil with the white sugar. Mix well. Drop in the YL Lavender Essential Oil. Mix. Transfer the mixture into Mason Jars. You can cute these babies up by adding chalk labels or ribbons. Use for yourself or give them as gifts. Anyone will enjoy receiving this all over body scrub!

You can switch up the Lavender Oil with any of your favorites or your skin needs. Sometimes, I use a Tea Tree and Frankincense combo, Lavender and Lemon, or Peppermint. Experiment to see what you like the best!

Organic Coffee Sugar Scrub

  • 1 Cup Organic Coffee
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 15 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil (Orange is excellent, too!)

Directions: Combine the coffee and sugar in a blender. Blend into a fine mixture. Add the drops of the Peppermint Essential Oil. Mix again until blended through. Transfer mixture to Mason Jars or a cute bowl and put on your bathroom sink with a little spoon for a scoop.

Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

  • ½ Tsp Brown Sugar
  • ½ Tsp Honey (I use local organic honey) but this Raw Honey is good
  • 2-3 Drops Cinnamon Essential Oil (again you can adjust the EO to your liking or skin need)

Directions:  In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and honey until they are blended into a paste form. Add the Cinnamon Essential Oil and mix. Store in these cute little 1 Ounce Jars. They come in some fun colors. Now, only scrub those lips a couple times a week. Overdoing it can irritate your lips.

A quick note about Essential Oils. Be sure you do your research about what you are buying. There are many EOs out there and the FDA only requires 2-3% of the oil to be ‘pure’ to be labeled Pure or Organic. Many companies put fillers, chemicals, and synthetics in their oils. Young Living does not do this. It is 100% pure, tested, and promised to come from Seed to Seal. With YL, you know what you are putting on your body, inhaling, and ingesting. So, there you have it. Comment below and let me know how you like the recipes or if you tried a killer Essential Oil combo! X, Nicole
